Adjustment
Adjustment Disorder occurs when a person struggles to cope with or adapt to a significant life change or stressful event, such as a job loss, divorce, or relocation. Unlike typical stress responses, adjustment disorder causes emotional and behavioural symptoms that are disproportionate to the event and may interfere with daily functioning. Symptoms can include anxiety, depression, feelings of hopelessness, difficulty concentrating, or withdrawal from social activities. Although the condition is often temporary, seeking help through therapy can provide support in navigating the stress and finding healthy coping strategies.
